...because it is something I need to be reminded of a lot, especially lately.

celebrating 7!

Waaayyy back in January, January 7 to be exact, our first-born turned 7. I am still not sure how this happened so quickly, which must be testament to how much fun the past 7 years have been for us.

We started the celebrations with a quiet evening in, just the 5 of us and Nana and PopPop... and pie (Margaret's choice for her "cake").

Two days later, we moved the celebration to a local hot-spot. Margaret's first "friend" party was held at a donut shop.

We are crazy like that here in TN.

moving right along into twenty-ten...

2010 is upon us, arriving much too fast for my comfort. The holidays flew by in a flurry of activity... getting the house holiday-ready, Christmas programs at school, visits with Santa, parties, shopping...

Dear Christmas, I miss you so already. Love, Lynn

my favorite decorations this holiday season were my boxwood wreathes, hung with pretty red grosgrain ribbon. one in our front hallway...

... and a larger one above the fireplace with the stockings.

Much to the delight of 3 dear children, Christmas morning arrived and with it plenty of treats.

And now our beloved tree sits out at the curb, waiting to be carted away to begin its second life as mulch. We have had a wonderfully magical holiday season... everyone getting just exactly what they were hoping for under the tree. Margaret received her sewing machine and American Girl doll. Lydia was lucky enough that Santa listened very carefully and was sure to bring her "coffee maker" and ice cream play set (and an American Girl doll too!), and Jack is a lucky little boy with a new wooden train set to keep him busy.

After a joyous and fun New Year's Eve celebration with good friends, we move forward into 2010, ready to take on all sorts of new challenges and adventures, some completely new to us and some a repeat of past adventures.

Wishing everyone a new year filled with happiness, good health and good times!
